Just had an alarm and keyless entry including power door locks installed.  Installer said a lock acuator could not be installed on the rear hatch.  I'm not one to give up easily sooooo....    Has anyone installed a door lock acuator on the rear door on a 97 and up Wrangler?  If so, do you have any tips?  What brand acuator did you use?  How did you wire it?  etc.

Thanks!

IT IS VERY POSSIBLE. ONLY THING IS, YOU CANT MAKE A STEALTHY INSTALL. IF YOU ADD AN ACTUATOR OR TRUNK RELEASE MECHANISM, ITS GONNA SHOW. YOU CAN REALY HIDE THE UNIT BECAUSE THE WRANGLER HAS A FLAT SURFACE TYPE LID AND ITS VERY THIN. TOO THIN TO INTERNALLY PUT THE UNIT. ALSO YOU WILL NEED AN AUX CHANNEL TO POP THE REAR HATCH.

AND BY THE WAY, YOU MIGHT AS WELL ADD A RADAR SENSOR SINCE YOUR DOING ALL OF THE ABOVE.BETTER SENSE OF SECURITY.

Thanks Steve.  I have minimal experience with the radar sensors.  I do not want to have too many false alarms.  Can you recommend a particular brand or method of install?
