need pro help

I have a 2004 Saab 9-3 and I'm putting an Ultrastart 1250 keyless and remote start. The remote start  is done and works fine, but when you put the key in and try to turn it, it throws a steering lock malfunction code and the key won't turn. I've tried triggering the keysense wire during start, but no luck. I made a universal bypass and used one of the customer's factory keys for the transponder. I triggered the starter at the relay under the hood. I had a friend of mine call dei tech support on the problem and it was useless. Hopefully someone out there has done one of these cars....please help! I tell it like it is...

Did you disarm the factory alarm? I don't have a wire diagram for that year, but earlier years the disarm wire unlocked the drivers door on the first pulse which means you need to program the unit to lock after starting.
