omega db-pldata killing battery

installed a crimestoppers cool start remote starter with the omega db-pldata a year ago in a 01 silverado.a couple months ago the battery died. after a jump start it was ok.but remote start didnt work just recently reset the omega bypass and it worked fine. the next morning the battery was dead again.anyone ever encounter this problem and how do i contact omega cant find any info on them on the web.please help.

And how do you come to the conclusion of the alarm is what is draining the battery? Parasitic current draws are hard enough for dealership techinicians to diagnose and I would like to know why you think the alarm is causing the problem.

I agree, unless you verified that the unit is drawing current at static with an ammeter, you may just have a bad battery..

i have yet to see a car alarm be the cause of a car battery draining, it is usually blamed for that, especially by mechanics who know squat about the aftermarket electronics, but after 14 years, it has not proven to be the cause

ok well thanks for the info i was just curious if anyone ever came across this problem.as far as coming to a conclusion the fact that the battery was fine until i reset the passlock bypass might suggest a problem there.the whole time it wasnt working never had a problem with battery.i was just exploring possibilities.so thanks for the replies and i wont be posting here again sorry to upset anybody who think they are better than others.
