I am trying to bypass the factory amp in a 96 Lexus es 300. I have the new deck in and working but no sound. I unplugged the harnesses from the factory amp, but the wires are different colors from the dash. I need to know which are which in order to slice them together. I just figured it was easier to do this than run all new speaker wire. thanks for your help in advance.

Which harness are you using? Did you hook up the amp turn on wire? Bypassing can be involving in this vehicle that's why I asked.

I did not hook up the amp turn on wire. the radio is installed and is working but no sound. I am planning on unhooking both plugs from the factory amp and slicing them together to get sound. bypassing the factory amp. will this work.

I cannot answer your question unless you answer my question first. Did you use a wiring harness?

no wire harness i tapped in the the factory plug for hot and switched hot and ground. I think the pink and blue wire is hot wire for amp. Can i use the rca outputs on the cd player and use a speaker level convertor to hook up the speakers. and still use the factory amp or do you know which wire are which to bypass the factory amp all togther. the cd player is the pioneer deh-p1700.

You should definitely condsider a premium radio interface. Something like this should work: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MKCLG6EMaOE/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=127OEM2&s=0&cc=01 (or a Metra 70-8112) I dont know which harness you would use so you might actually have to splice the wires. If I were you I would go to a local shop and see if they have a wiring harness and maybe see if they could do the install for you.
