Okay!!  Got the tach hooked up.  Seems that Ford put a special tach output wire just for remote starts.  I knew you could get a factory installed remote start so I started thinking that they should have had some wires down there for that.    Got to digging around and found this:  https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/non-html/2002/278.pdf  They have what's is called a cto (clean tach output)  wire number 76 LG/W just beside the emergency brake pedal.  Made life a lot easier.  Thanks for everyone who replied.  If I can help in anyway please let me know.
