What can i do to stop my lights from dimming when the radio is turned up? I have a 2000 Grand Prix, Alpine D857 Head Unit, Alpine 1507 Amp(running subs), 3 kicker Comps at 4 ohms, Kenwood 300W Amp(running all other speakers). I have a 1 Farad Cap and a Optima Battery. What can i do? Thanks

Sounds like your charging system it's not up to the power demands, what amperage is your alternator ?,most people upgrade to a high output alternator that puts out 130 A or more, you have a good battery and a cap so that only leaves your alternator, sorry for the bad news.

One last thing that you could try is to upgrade your existing wiring to make sure that you are getting optimal current flow. Probably want to upgrade the wiring from your battery to your alternator and your ground wiring. If none of that helps, or if it doesn't help enough, you will have to upgrade your alternator.
