hey guys, been gone for a while, im back now... I've just recently had my car stolen. We got the car back, but unfortunately system, ipod, and everything was stolen, the only thing they saved was the door speakers... luckily they were the most expensive at 250 for the pair... Well im getting a sony deck from a friend, and I'm buying some new subs to replace the stolen ones... I've decided on two 12'' power acoustic speakers from best buy, I work there and get them for like $70 a piece...
I'm trying to rebuild for under $500 and preferably under 4 . Now I can pick up a decent set of rears for around 50. My big question though is should I spend the big money on the amp or the Subs. I wont be powering the regular speaker on the amp.
Also with the amp should i get a 4 channel since the subs are DVC? I have been out of the loop in car audio for a little too long.
Sorry for my rambling too.

you can wire the two dvc subs to connect to a mono-channel amp. I would go for a good amp, amps seem like when you sell them used you don't get sh*t compared to what you pay, subs are a little better, so you coudl keep the great amp, sell the ok subs later on and get better ones. or just go for one good sub and one good amp.

Those PA subs aren't really a good buy, even with your Best Buy discount. Id go with 2 of the 2005 12" Kicker Comp Vr subs off ebay. They can be had for around 90 each shipped. The new Comp Vrs are very impressive.

Those PA subs arent really a good buy even with your best buy discount. My suggestion would be a pair of 12" Kicker Comp VR's. Get the 05' series. They are better than the 04's and can be had for around $90 shipped on ebay.

I'd spend the cash on an amp. Great subs will still sound like arse without a quality amp runnin' 'em. But if you can get the kickers as suggested they are nice budget speakers.

Well I'm actually planning on selling my civic and buying a blazer... If i was keeping the civic i would definately put an alarm in it... but im just gonna sell it.
I'm into the Kickers, but for whatever reason the PA's really have impressed me... Best Buy just recently started carrying Alpine stuff too, So maybe the alpine woofers too. ... Also on the topic of alarms does anyone have an experience with the Viper alarm/RS that best buy carries?

Two 12" Alpine Type R's would be real nice too..they get plenty loud..louder than most people think...while sounding nice as well.
