If anyone can help, I'd be much obliged...I have hooked up 2 different car stereos to my 93 Explorer, and while both have connected fine and seem to be working, I can not get sound from any speakers. I know that I am using the correct connections, so is there something that I am just plain not doing?

TIA to anyone who can help.

You have a factory amp in there, so you will need to find the amp turn on wire. Someone else on here should have the proper wire colour for you. Or you can plug the factory radio back in and test the wires with a dmm to find the amp turn on wire....asumeing you didn't hack the factory harness.

Are you using an aftermarket harness for this application?? If so, there should be a blue wire from the HU for amp remote turn on, and also one on the harness, connect these to turn on the amp, and it should solve your problem.

If not then this should to help out. Same deal, connect your amp remote turn on leads, and it should solve your problem.

If you don't have the correct harness, and you haven't cut the factory harness, then Metra makes a harness for Ford Premium Systems. This is the best and easiest way to intall your aftermarket HU. It plugs directly into the factory harness of your truck. You take that harness and the HU harness, connect them together and everything just plugs in.

Thanks for the help! I'm using the real harness, so I have not hacked the wires on the speaker connection. Is the amp wire on the square speaker block or on the other plug where the power comes out of? I assume that you just connect the two and viola, it should be ok?

You need to hook up the blue/white wire on the grey plug of the harness you purchased to the radios turn on wire which is usually blue or blue/white.
