I was just looking around on ebay and saw this auction for a clear sub box and was just wondering if it would actually sound any different in it and whether it is worth a try. http:///.com/dll?ViewItem&category=14945&item=5758364822&rd=1

Yeah they sound a bit different, but not bad. They don't sound as...{lack of better word} "warm" to me. Just a tad bit "brighter"{?} than a wooden box.

I would not buy from that seller in particular. Sounds like he like to rip people off. Guess that's why he has a "connection" and can sell them on the cheap. Yeah, including not sending the product out after someone has paid for it Clear sub box ? -- posted image.

Clear speaker enclosures can look very cool.  It you have a Tap Plastics in your area, they can help you.

3/8" plexi?  Wouldn't that flex like a mofo?

Yes and it is also a highly reflective surface which is a bad thing.

I agree that that particular box sounds like a rip off. That dudes feedback is one thing. And 3/8" plexi would not be enough. The one that I heard was 1" lexan. Like I said it sounded a bit different, but not bad. I'd say they have more of purpose in a cool looking SPL setup than a SQ setup.

The only plexi boxes I have ever usd were like 3/4 plexi....

We took it to a monument company and had them sand blast it lightly to frost it....It looked really good but I agree with oonikfraleyoo The sound you get from them is bright...

If you're still looking for one this guy has a dual box for 10s and 15s. He has a better feedback score also. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZthomass6947
