ok,   I have a 98  Audi A4 that I am installing a aftermarket headunit into.  and I used a Metra antenna adapter for the Antenna to the headunit,   but I am not receiving any AM stations except one or two.  I also tried using Metras Amplified antenna adapter for the Audi. and it produced the same results.  Great FM and no AM.

I couple sources said that I still need to power up the cars power antenna lead.  Is this true even though the car does not have a powered antenna?

Strive for perfection

Ditto, The Audi has its antenna in the rear windscreen(looks like demister strips) and an  active antenna booster in the c pillar from memory and requires powering up to pass any AM signal. Wire up the auto antenna circuit and AM will appear!
