I installed a viper 550 esp in my 99 Expo, I am having a hard time with learning the transponder. My wires are hooked up correctly red with 12volt constant and the blue with the (-) of the remote start output which is the white and green wire. And I am using the 2 original ford keys, to program. After  a few times of trying it still does not work. Does anyone know a easier way  to program the transponder? Thanks alot

What is the procedure to program it?  I am not familiar with the viper but I assume that you turn the first key on, then the second, then start with the remote start?  If so, make sure after each key is turned on, you wait for the light to go out, then do the second, then start with remote start.

Also make sure the remote start is programmed correctly to provide a pulse out while running.

Sometimes the learn a new key routine is actually locked off in the BCM.  If this is the case then you will have to go to your Ford dealer and have them unlock it for you.
