Is there any way to set up the alarm (Viper 771) to unlock only the driver's door when unarming the system.  I know how to make the alarm do it, but I'm not sure how to make the car do it.  I would like to be able to unlock just the drivers door when the button is pressed once, and then unlock the other 3 doors with a second pulse.

you will need to wire up a five wire relay set and hook it up to the drivers door unlock side of the motor.

Ok, so I'm hooking up a Viper 771.  It has the standard unlock/lock harness, and then it also has a channel 4 ouput that can be programmed to send a signal if the unlock button is pressed twice.

So are you saying that I can do this?:  Hook up a relay to send 12v+ to the unlock side of the motor when the disarm button is pressed once.  Then hook the second unlock wire to the wire in the car that unlocks all of the doors?  This means that once the drivers door is unlocked, and the button is pressed again, the drivers door will try to be unlocked again (this is not a problem is it?).  For the lock function, I can just hook it up regularly I would assume, there is no need to lock just 1 door.

The Directechs sheet I pulled up does not indicate a polarity for the unlock motor, but I would assume a motor would need 12v+ to work...correct me if I'm wrong please!

I guess my concern is the unlocking of the drivers door twice (if that makes sense).  I just want to make sure that nothing will be hurt by this.

Ohh, and one more question.  When I pull up my Directechs sheet, and it gives me the colors for the unlock and lock motors...can I assume that these are for the driver's door??  They are located in the drivers kick panel.  I've just never messed with these wires on a car before, so I don't know.  Thanks in advance!

you need a relays any way because you need resistance to lock and unlock

Power Lock WHITE/ blue   -  passenger kick panel
Notes: This is a one wire system, must use relays. Lock requires negative trigger through a 4.7K resistor, Unlock requires a negative trigger to the same wire.
Power Unlock same wire

I knew about that already, but will the rest of this plan work??  Will unlocking that driver's door twice cause any problems?? (I explained it more above).  And are those colors for the motor the ones for the driver's door??  HELP!
