amp and sub wiring

First question:  Is bazooka amps any good?  Second question:  I have four 8ohm tens and was wondering how I would wire them to make them efficient for an amp.(parallel?)  I was also wondering what amp is recomended/2-channel, etc. 

Use a 2 channel amp ( or a mono amp wired to 2 ohms ) . Wire the 4-  8"  so that two are in parallel ( to make 4 ohms ) and wire the other two the same. Now you have 2 sets of 4 ohm wires ... now you can wire it again in paralle to a 2 ohm load. If you try to wire them all in parallel, you will end up with a 1 ohm load.Jeff

Some of you people out there seem to be confused on your series/parallel wiring knowledge.  Four 8 Ohm subs all wired in parallel will present you with a 2 Ohm load, not 1 Ohm.  You are thinking of four 4 Ohm subs.  Personally, I'd either wire all of them in parallel and use a class D amplifier that is stable at 2 Ohms, or wire 2 pairs in parallel (2 sets of 2 subs wired in parallel), that way you end up with 2 4 Ohm loads, which would be great with a standard 4 channel amp. Bridge the 4 channels on the amp to 2, then each bridged channel would be putting out its maximum output @ 4 ohms.  If you wire your subs either of these 2 ways with the according amplifier you will be using their power most effciently.
