Dodge Dakota locks!

I am installing an alarm in my 1999 Dodge Dakota R/T with factory power locks, we cannot figure out how the locks work in this thing.  When the alarm send a + pulse to the unlock wire it unlocks then immediatly relocks again, and it does the same thing on the lock wire.  I know it isnt the alarm cuz it does the same thing when you just tag either wire to positive.  It says in the vehicle info LOCK= ORANGE / Purple REV  and UNLOCK= Pink/Purple (+)  I am assuming that REV is reverse polarity, but what exactly does that mean?!?! 

The way my alarm works is simple, when you press unlock it sends a (+) pulse through the unlock wire and when lock it sends a (+) pulse through the lock wire, so what do I need to do to make this work??

What kind of alarm is this ? Not too many systems that I know have a (+) output door lock control as it's primary output. Most of the time it's a (-) trigger or at best a alternating polarity system. Here's the what you need to do to make ths system work ( keep in mind though that this is for a (-) trigger based system )

The LOCK uses a (+) system that you will most likely need a relay for to trigger on most Dodge vehicles to ensure proper voltage goes to the motor wire.

It is a Royal guard and it does use a positive pulse, you can configure it for both positive and negative pulse.

I am confused as to why the unlock on my truck is + and the lock is REV??  What does that mean exactly?

I just did that thing a couple days ago. The lock is a strait positive pulse and the unlock has to be 5 wired. If you did not do that when you hooked it up originally its quite possible you fried the output on the brain. Sorry dude, wish I could help more.
