I have a 96 chrysler cirrus and am trying to install an Alpine CDE 7853 head unit in place of the factory radio. My problem is that I can not get my power antenna to work. I am using a wiring harness so that I do not have to splice my factory connections. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get my power antenna to work?

it should be the solid blue wire if that does not work than the pin in the wire harness might be bent those do it all of the time

Also, use the blue/white "amp turn on" lead from the Alpine, not the solid blue "power antenna" wire.  Why, do you ask?

This wire also turns on the Chrysler's factory amp----the solid blue wire doesn't put out any power while you're playing a tape or CD-----if you were to use the solid blue, the amp would only come on when you play the radio.

Listen to chris... this is one of the most common mistakes people make with a factory amp.  If it were me, though, considering you are trying to upgrade your system with a nice alpine deck, I'd bypass the POS factory amp.

Thank you all for your help. I did not see a blue and white wire coming from the Alpine. What do I do in this instance? I also notice that my door speakers are not working but the dash and rear speakers work. Did I chose a bad head unit for my car?
