8 OHM or 4 ohm SUBWOOFER CONNECTION

Hi,it's Dan M C again,i have a question about how to connect my new A/D/S/ 310rs.2.The sub has two voice coils,i will be using a Nakamichi amp (1002,last year's model @ 100w x2 or 200w x1,4 ohm),now some say the Nak will run much cooler if i hook it up in series but i will be loosing half the power because the Nak will see an 8 ohm load,i really don't care about 2 ohm loads,i want longevity out of the amp,afterall i'm after quality sound,can anybody tell me what will be the best way to use the A/D/S/ and Nakamichi,i'm open to all sugestions,one more thing what's the best way to remove the kick panel speakers out of BMW 3 series and the ones in the back (rear shelf),i would hate myself if i break anything,after all this kinda stuff costs a fortune in Romania,thank you so much everybody !

I would suggest running the two voice coils in series and then bridging the amp to that 8 ohm load. That way, you should get plenty of power and a cool running amp. If it really isn't enough power, you can change it to running the coils in series to get a 2 ohm load and running that, but be careful and consult your amps manual first. If you are goignt o run it bridged, make sure it can handle a 1 ohm load on each channel. If so, you will have tons of power and heat. I think you'll get enough out of that amp in series that it won't matter anyways. ;)/NyxBass
