theres a few reason for wanting to go down to 60hz in front one is i like my crossover on sub at or below 60 which would leave out everything between 60 and 80 if fronts were set to 80.

another is sometimes theres obstructions or other reason sub will be off or quite low and will lose on somesound there too the other is i like the fuller sound i get in the front by having it up there i guess thats what you mean by moving the sound stage. another reason this is a big interest to me is one time awhile back i was able to get 6x9's in my doors of a nissan 240 and this made some great sound and it was able to get down to the 60hz wouldnt handle tons of watts but had a real nice sound.

i dont really have space for a 3 peice component up front just the 6.5 in door and tweeter in pillar thanks again for your thoughts on this

its not so much of a budget issue i thought i would be able to get a set for about 300 but if theres sets out there that are more but will get the job done they are of interest to me.

Yea it seems to me if thats the way you feel tcss is probably right...
You'd just be sacrificing some volume headroom for your prefered listening settings..
Honestly, I'm not to sure about what else to recommend to you... I imagine any of a dozen different speaker systems would suit your needs just fine, especially at a $300 price point. If I could buy any comp set right now.. I'd go with the Boston Acoustics Pro-series.. my dealer quoted me $350...
I bet the Alpines tcss is recommending are prolly pretty nice as well.. I've heard Alpines' with gobs of midbass but I'm not to sure about those..

Look, THX standards say that bass is unlocalisable @ 80 Hz, so that's where you want your sub crossed at for a good sound stage. It will prevent the front speakers from struggling.
Ryan, what you may want to look at doing is a three way system in the front.
7" speaker in the door
4" speaker in a kick
Tweeter in a kick
