I have a 2001 altima, repalced the factory with Panasonic 9800. The reception is terrible, it does not have the normal Nissan plug, so I did not need Antenna adapter. I tried other radios in there and same problem. The antenna is in the back glass. Any help be appreciated.

The antenna is amplified. Go buy a Metra 70-7550 and connect your Panasonic's power antenna lead to the blue lead on the metra harness.

I looked at the harness, and the problem is that where the blue wire pl;ugs in the harness, does not match up to any wire in the factory harnees, the slot is empty.

Try the factory radio.  Does the reception improve?  If so, try backprobing the factory harness for another wire that shows 12v when you power up the unit.  Ensure this is not a dimmer/illum wire.  Put the aftermarket in, and try powering this other wire.

If you have no change with the factory radio in place- still bad reception- there's a problem with the antenna itself.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
