Hi All,

I have a Clifford Intellipage that I bought used, hooked it all up in my 93 Ford SHO, works fine, but when I press channel #5, no remote start.  It does disable the starter correctly when the system is armed and everything appears to be wired correctly, but no remote start.  When I press channel 5, the lights don't even flash, no relay clicking, nothing.  Any ideas?

Also, anyone know how to reset the valet code to factory if you don't know the current one?!

Thanks!

-Andrew

I've never installed a Clifford in my life, but I can give you some suggestions.

If you've installed a hoodpin, test to make sure it's working properly, or disconnect it temporarily.

There's usually some sort of control switch, which the customer can use to enable/disable the remote start.  It may be a prewired switch with a plug on it, or it might just be a wire in the Clifford's harness that needs to see a ground for the remote start to work.  If there's a wire that says "neutral safety" or something likt that, it probably needs to see a ground.

Andrew, Did you install the Intellipage yourself? I used to have one of those on a 1997 Acura legend. The intellipage appears to be the most advanced alarms system ever made by clifford before they introduced their G4 line. I did have alot of problems with that unit so I finally had removed from my car.

There could be a lot things wrong. Is ch5 connected to the remote starter module? Make sure you have a negative pulse coming out ch5 which a gray/red wire.

Simplest first guys...

Make sure that the alarm is programed to recognize #5.

some of the problems with the older cliffords are the remotes.  Make sure its clean and the battery is getting good contact.

Do you have the Installation wiring guide for the clifford?   If not, I am surprised you have everything installed correctly.  One of the greatest designs of the clifford line was that all of the wires were black, they then went to color codes that were not standard to anyone else or anything else.  This kept the average joe from dinking with them.  If you need one let me know, I have the complete book on clifford alarms and can scan the page for you sometime tomorrow.
