I'm missing something with the lock and unlock function.  I'm installing this on a 2004 Chevy Suburban.

Please advise.

Using what interface??? I use the GM-U7 from crimestopper.. Just plug it in and it programs itself to your platform in your truck.. Just use the lock/unlock wires from your remote start into the module and it disarms and does locks through the databus..

I'm installing a Prestige Platinum APS-996a.  Looks simple, but I just wanted to confirm to see if it's as easy as it appears to be

Oh O.K I see now you are using the 457...That will do the trick.. That vehicle is very easy to do. Just about every wire you need is right  there at the bcm right behind the knee bolster panel. Can get the tach wire behind the instrument panel.  All your ignition wires are right there also.. Any more questions I will try to answer them for you.... actually those gmc trucks are fun to do, I really enjoy doing those

the only wires you need from the truck is the purple data wire on the OBDII conector and the 12 volt sorces (ign)
