I have a JL AUDIO 500/1 mono amp and it has worked great since I got it now I am tring to hook up the RBC-1 (volume knob) and its not working.  I havn't changed anything on the amp and I followed the directions it came with to the letter but I can't figure out why it won't control the volume...

Can someone help me out ?

I had the same sub in my 95 civic which I sold and it didn't work there i figured something must of been up so I decided to forget it since I had my 2005 Mustang GT on order.. Now that I have my stang and the amp installed its still not doing its thing.

Do I have to turn off anything on the amp?

its might be your cable or connecters ends, maybe try a 6 pin telephone cable and make sure your pins line up right and are not bent

The RBC-1 is not a "volume" or gain control. It is a single band EQ fixed at 60hz.

so it ajusts only that I thought it would control the volume... Well how do I get it so I can control the volume?  RCA volume controller?

I just need to have the ability to controll the volume of the sub

Yes, you can use a knob on the sub RCA's.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
