sounds like the securikey system; a dealer installed security system lots of camry's used...mine included.  The remote is built in with the key; so you get to buy the remote with a blank key, then have the key cut.  If you're cool with the parts guys at the dealer, they'll hopefully just give you the programming instructions so you can program the remote yourself...they did for me.  I hated mine every minute I had it.  Tore it out and put in a Code alarm.  I know I'll get flamed for putting a code alarm in, but I'm working for CC and I got it on the cheap.  Oh by the way I think the remotes run about $80.Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.
