Are the remotes for the viper alarm supposed to eat batteries quickly? I got my alarm installed first week of July sometime, and in the middle of August, I had to replace the battery already. Today I looked at my remote and have 4 out of 5 bars. I have paging mode on and illumination off. Is something wrong? Or is this normal and am I just used to my stock remote that I had for a year and a half with the original battery?

Yup, that's how they work. Buy the 20 pack, it might get you through to next year...lol

yeah I hate the battery life, they should really try something else other than AAA's if possible.

Turning off code hoppin helps somewhat (the remote isn't "looking" for the car so often).

Might almost double the battery life...... AAA are cheap, and can be bought almost anywhere. You aren't going to find a CR2032 at the local quickee mart at 4AM when the battery decides to die in your remote, and you need to get home.

i always keep a spare AAA in my console for when they die completely.... life span on that models is about 1 battery every 30-60 days (60 if you are lucky!)

it's one of the things i hate about the new LED models... the batteries die almost as frequently, but they have no battery indicator, it just starts beeping like hell..... quite annoying.....
