Worse thing is that it will allow current to pass through as if there were no diode at all , which basically there isn't which way to face the diode? - Page 2 -- posted image.

Where'd you get this one? which way to face the diode? - Page 2 -- posted image. Haha.

Thanks again....I'll redo that diode.

Can I use a connector rather than soldering?  Diode in one end, wire in the other?

CpGoose, remember when I ask you what wire you hooks up to the 550esp to the trunk, I hooked up the door trigger and jumpered the trunk wire, the alarm didn't have a seperate wire to connect to the trunk, so thats what I did, I was wondering if you did the same, so when I open the the door, it shows that the trunk is open, and vice versa,   I need to now if its giving  you problems because it might give me problems later,  I tried jumpering the hood pin wire to the trunk but something went wrong and it didn't act right, so I disconnected it, where can I hook up the trunk wire?

the rookie!~

No, I didn't do the same.  It's been a while, but I'm almost positive that I hooked up the trunk wire to the BLUE wire on the main harness (the one that says it's for an Optional Sensor).  I had asked the same question a while ago, and this is the response I got.....so that's what I did.

You can use a connector, but for a solid lasting connection......I suggest solder.

Thanks for all your help Jeff.  I might wind up being lazy and waiting for a bit to change that diode.  I haven't had any bad effects from it, and I just put everything back in last week.  Now that it's like 15 degrees, I can't bring myself to opening it all back up again.  Arg.  which way to face the diode? - Page 2 -- posted image.

hey guys....can I just ask one more question?   I'm still not sure if I need 1 diode or 2?  Do I only need one for the alarm's trunk wire.....or do I need 2 diodes.....1 for the car's door wire and 1 for the car's trunk wire?  Ahhh.....better explained with a picture (#1 or #2)?  Do you think this could be my problem?

I'm still a little confused.  which way to face the diode? - Page 2 -- posted image.

Diagram A is telling me that if I want to have multiple trigger wires from the car work on one alarm input wire, to diode isolate each one to pin 85.

Diagram B is telling me that if I don't want to use a relay (but accomplish the same thing), to double diode isolate each wire?

I just can't tell if one of those is what was in my diagram.   I guess not because I didn't double isolate any of them.  Am I on the right track?
