Have been using a Avic-N2 unit for a couple months with no problems and now the just powers on and the screen pops out and powers off in that position. Turn off the vehicle and the screen goes back in. Checked out power and everything to the unit and all is fine. Do not know what the next step is. Hate to have to send it back to Pioneer if there is a simple problem but I have checked out most everything and reset the unit and all wires are where they should be. Anyone had this problem or know what might be causeing it much appreciated.
Thanks

Hey w-r-g,

I have seen a couple problems like this.  Are you sure that the unit powers off or does the screen just go black.  Either way it sounds like the the tape wiring in the back of the monitor.  It goes bad easily and may need to be replaced.  If you fold down the screen to a horizontal position on the back left where it connects to the main part of the unit is a copper colored tape.  If it is bad it can make your screen just go black.  Also if thats not the problem have you completed the bypass for navigation and dvd playing?  If so the solder may be touching the metal plate nearby which is grounding out the unit.

Any questions p_gcustomerservice@yahoo.com

If your screen is powering off, shutting down and turning off and staying out.  I believe there is a setting on the deck that you need to enable to have the screen close when the power is turned off. I don't know why it is like this but some units are like that.  Check your settings menus and make sure that it's not just some dumb setting.
