Eclipse SW7124DVC-T2

Is this an ok semi entry level sub...  Eclipse SW7124DVC-T2?  Is it ok for sound quality too?That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

More than OK for sq. Use a 1.25 cu.ft net sealed box for this sub.Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

i agree these subs are more than ok. I have 4 of them in my car w/ 2 PG 1500 watt Octanes.And they work good

Hi all To cut a long story short the glue around the edge of my eclipse 87121.4 12” sub started to let go and instead of fixing it eclipse chose to replace it with a SW7124DVC-T2 12” sub. I was looking at the specs for this sub and noticed that the Vas volume is quite large. 2.23 cubic feet. Can this sub be used in a sealed box would this be the size of the ported box? My old sub only needed a 1 cubic foot box for a sealed enclosure. 2.23 sounds damn big for a sealed enclosure. What is Vas exactly? Is it a number used to calculate box characteristics, the size of a sealed box, the size of a ported box, etc. My new sub can be found here http://www.eclipse-web.com/sw7100/sw7124.html Has anyone used these subs before? I’m thinking about buying a new amp to run the thing. A jaycar 2x150W rms @ 4 ohms. It can be bridged to put out 1x500W rms. Also, this is kinda a silly question but when manufacturers recommend a box size do they take into account the volume the sub takes up? Any help/comments would be much appreciated. cheers
