2002 Impala 9C1
installed remote start.
Car turns on, as if to crank, using the remote start, but the engine does not turn over.
Have not installed 555L.
Wanted to get some kind of acknowledgement that the remote start is installed correctly before installing the 555L.
It will start with the key.
Question:
Shouldn't the engine at least attempt to start (turn over), with the remote start, before the 555L is installed?

Thanks, but I didn't ask if it would crank.
I asked if the engine would turn over.

ncso911.... you seem to be getting wrapped up in the nomenclature...... "turning over" = "crank" = "start"

as you have been told repeatedly already... the engine will not attempt to crank nor turn over nor attempt to start when using the RS until you hook up the 555L passlock bypass  .... the vehicle sends a code during the initialization of the crank sequence and if the BCM does not see this code and verify it the vehicle will not attempt to ..... well, you get the idea (god, i hope so)
