I have been told that the Panasonic 9" Flip Down DVD player dome light will not work with GM vehicles. Of course I was not told this until Circuit City installed it in my 1993 GMC 2500 HD.  Does anyone know if this is true or not?  Does anyone have their dome light working with this model in a GM truck?

True that unit only has the capability to do - trigger dome light. GM is + trigger.

93 chev has negative domelight wire, and it's not delayed so either way it should be usable.

I'm not 100% positive if a '93 GMC has + or - domelight trigger but I do know that any O/H unit (regardless of domelight polarity) can be tied into your vehicles dome light circuit. I suppose it all depends on who you take it to, lol. I've seen big box retailers remedy this by installing a relay to invert the trigger but if it's a newer vehicle it will have a dimming effect. If so that relay will make a buzzing noise enough to..... well you get the point. I've always used a simple transistor & resistor to take care of this but there are other methods like PAC's TR7 module.

So YES! It can be done!

It can be done but how much are you willing to pay?
