Boss Riot 850

Is this a good amp to power 1 05C84 kicker comp? How do I wire this thing up? I have a 2003 ford ranger factory radio.

I was gonna ask you the same thing. Does your factory deck have preouts? You're probably gonna have to buy a new deck first.

The amp has high level inputs so it will work with our factory radio

buy an 8 guage amp kit.  if you mount it in the trunk wire it from the rear speakers to the high level in put side of the amp. the manual should have the details to do it.. your kicker is a 4 ohm sub so running your amp briged would be the thing to do.

No, Boss is never "good enough" for any purpose...except maybe an anchor for a small rowboat.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Find yourself a better amp.
That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

Majorly over rated amp, cut the rms figures in half and you have the real power of the amp. If you like your bass you sound like its suposed to be all mudded together then shure get that amp, , but if you like to hear the different tones, beats and intense kick of a a drum beat look very very far elsewhere.
