I have installed a Ultra Start 1250TL remote starter into my wifes 96 isuzu rodeo. When I use the remote to start the motor, the motor starts but the starter will not disengage when the motor startes. It will disengage after about 20 seconds and then the motor will shut off. After a about a minute it will try to start again. I used a directwire wiring sheet and the Ultra start maunal to wire it up. I have checked the ultra start web site to see if they have a new manual but the wiring diagram has not been changed.

Thanks for any help.

Eddie

sounds like maybe you don't have the proper tach signal or the unit isn't programed for tach. the tach wire should be a BLACK/ red wire at the coil on the engine, or use a fuel injection wire which will be the wire that is different in color then all the rest of the wires on the other injectors.

This car has a coil at each cylinder. Each cylinder has a green wire with a strip. I connected the tach wire from the remote start to a GREEN/ org wire at a coil. When I went throught the tach learn mode on the remote start it looks like to works. I get the correct number of flashes and clicks.

I think that BLACK/ red wire is down low in the driver's kick panel also.

I will try that. BLACK/ red. How can I tell if I have the correct wire?

Where did you get the information, everything i can find tells me to use the GREEN/ striped wire on a coil.

Thanks

Eddie
