Before I purchase and start installing the Viper 791xv on my 2004 Dodge Ram (with the black key) I was wondering if my Keyless Entry will still work with the new Viper remote or if I need to purchase a new module for it to work properly.  If I do, could someone lead me in the direction of which one I will need to purchase (model #, etc).

Thanks-

you won't need any module for the keyless you just hook up the car wires to the alarm brain wires, but you will need a module to bypass the factory immobolizer

you can use the 457CW from DEI to do the doorlocks and you also need the 555C to bypass the factory immobolizer

if you don't want to use the module for the doorlocks you can use resistors and relays for keyless entry

Only vehicles with gray keys have the immobilizer

You can use the DEI 457CW or OMEGA DB-CHDL3

OR
You can hardwire using 2 Resistors:
Power LockVIOLET/GREENDRIVER KICK PANEL **
Power UnlockSINGLE WIRE SYSTEMDRIVER KICK PANEL

** VIOLET/GREEN Wire Must See Ground Through 887 Ohm Resistor For Lock And Ground Through 280 Ohm Resistor For Unlock

are you sure cause I did a jeep liberty that had a black key and the factory immobolizer had to be bypassed in order to remote start, i might be mistaken but jeep might be a bit different than the dodge models

The only Dodge Rams that have the immobilizer are the Larmine Models (high line models only).  I only have the SLT model.

Does it matter what's the wattage rating on those resistors? Would 1/2 watts be sufficent?
Thanks,
