Boomer, thanks for the linkI will look into more. My 2003 gmc truck has the key with a chip in it expensive to replace but the key for the Yukon looks like the key on my old 95 gmc. how does this passlock ll work?

drvnbysound ,thanks for the info I will try it tonight. So if it does not work with the key in the igntion then my problem is other than the pass lock. I have tried running the tack wire from the white coil wire and set it to 8 cyl mode and have hooked it to the negitive side of the fuel injector and set it to 1 cyl mode same results.

Thanks again guys I will let you know what happens.

Thanks  Rick

I believe the resistors on the 98 are in the key cylinder. You will just measure the resistance needed and wire in the proper value resistors. It's really not all that difficult. You can of course use a module like myself and others have mentioned.

Thanks everyone for all the information it has all been very helpful. I tried as was suggested to try starting the yukon with the key in the ignition while using the remote starter. There was no change it did the same as before. I know I will need to get around the passlock ll but I must have another problem as well.  I have gone over the wiring again and reprogramed the unit but I must have missed somthing.

Thanks for all your input it is always welcome.

Rick.

Read this ..it may help........

http://www.wiringinstructions.com/238.htm

You will need a ByPass on your 98..........
If your Yukon does NOT have Factory Keyless Entry ..you will need Relays to do a 5 wire Reversal Rest @ Ground
If it DOES have Factory Keyless Entry it will be POSITIVE Pulse to the Door Lock / Unlock wires.  If your Unit only has Negative Pulse ,  You will need Relays for that

Rick since you have doublechecked your wiring I would do the bypass before pulling your hair out. You have to do it either way. Then see if you still have an issue.

Boomer, you are righti I will wait to see what happens after I install the bypass. I have a question as to the wiring of this using relays. The two links below show two different ways of doing this, is one better or easier than the other or are they just two different ways of doing the same thing? I would apreciate your thoughts on this.

Thanks Rick

Hey Rick looks to me like it's two different ways of accomplishing the same thing.
