I got the python installed from Circuit City. The manual mentions that the remote start will be disabled or the engine will shut off if already running if the hood is opened. However with my current installation both donot happen. Does the python kit come with a hood pin switch which circuit city forgot to install it or is that an additional accessory to buy if you need the safety feature. Thanks.

I have never seen a r/s unit not come with a hood pin.  Although most installers use the hood pin a lot of installers don't use it simply for the fact they say they

cause more problems in the future(rusting that sort of thing)  For what it is worth to replace the hood pin though compared to a mechanics arm(worst case

scenario) i would go back to cc and get the hood pin put in just for SAFETY sakes.  Iam sure some people will disagree with this post but i don't care.  Go

back and get the hood pin!

I called DIRECTED customer service to check with them if the hood pin switch is part of the Python 1400XP installation kit. I was told by the CS representative that hood pin switch has to be bought separately, can somebody confirm it. Thanks

Directed usually puts them in with thier remote start. I have yet to see one. I would go back ask if they could put it on. They might charge about 20 to put it on.
