I am trying to install a ProStart CT-3160M for manual transmissions and it calls for a wire from the RS to be hooked up the the parkbrake wire. The wire on the RS in (-). On the 2002 Chevy Tracker I found 2 wires going to the park brake light on the instrament pannel. When I hook up a test light to either one of these wires the light goes on so I hooked the RS wire to one of these. Is this right?

How can you test a wire that is (-)? I want to test the (-) door trigger wire to see if this is the right on. So I wan't to test the wire with the door trigger in and the door trigger out. What do I do to test this?

Test continuity with one lead at ground.  If all you have is a test light, connect it to a known positive and connect the neg. lead to the lead you want to test.
