Which Cable is which.
I have a 99 golf4 with imobilizer W/O PowerWin and no ACC.
I dont have the RED / gry wire mine is RED / blk, i think cause its the only wire who gets 12V for a short while while turning to start position.
I cant find the RED / gray but i do have a gray wire who looses its current when turned to on(what is this?).
BRW/RED wire is +12V constant untill ejecting key.
Black and BLACK/ Red is +12v when turned to on(Ignition?)
I have 2 Red who is always Hot +12v(must be from battery)

Another wiring diagram for GOLF4/2000
But i find the 99 Golf3 wiring more like mine. But i dont have any ACC BLK/YEL
Im trying to install a remote start, i think that the BRW/RED is Ignition2
and the BLK and BLK/Red is Ignition and
the RED / BLK is START.
Any sense in this?

But i dont have any RED / GRAY at the ignition, the picture above shows what i got behind the ignition, thats whats troubling me. Im installing a Alarm/remote start combo.

The Digram you show me dosent show the same colors as https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=2000&make=Volkswagen&model=Golf&ID=19102&type=Alarm should be the same afterall its the same car and year. But that diagram tells me that i should have BLACK / YELLOW cables behind the ignition, confusing

my engine is 1.6FS and its made in Jan-Feb 99', the diagram above says GTI engine?

This what i measured could it be correct?

  • BROWN / RED wire is +12V constant untill ejecting key.  (ON)?
  • Black and BLACK/ Red is +12v when turned to on(Ignition1&2?)
  • I have two Red who is always Hot +12v(must be from battery)
  • Gray who looses its current when turned to On(no idea?)
  • RED / Black Sends +12V when turned to Start(Start?)

Im installin a rs alarm, thoe i need the OIL pressure wire, in the Haynes book i have it says its the GREEN/ Black wire, when turning on the ignition it measures +10V constant, should it do that? so when the lamp should go on does it become +-oV?
anyone?

where is the Oil pressure switch on this car? i tried to hook on to a wire by the oil filter but no succes that one only gave me +12v a second when starting, i need +12v a bit longer to get my RS to know it has started.
Can i use the Tach wire even if it says OIL in the manual?
