Very Simple question for you but not for me. What is the difference in sound between a ported box and a sealed box? And also which one is better for making ur head rattle and your clothes shake?

ported hits harder if the enclosure is built right. built wrong and it sounds like arse. build it to the sub specs.

eh, ported doesn't always sound like total shhh... but yeah, ported boxes are the way to go for SPL. sealed boxes are more for SQ system... and you don't need much for your clothes to shake, thats a bad way to put that you want a loud system.

if u wanna shake some clothes off get 2 18's port them bring them up to rms....your eyes may fall out...

a ported will shake more then a sealed box...the tuned box has the port...which allows the back wave to "double" up with the front wave...making it louder and shake you a lot more.so your spl sine wave is bigger with the same cone movement...
