Hi,

I bought a used 2003 Explorer Eddie Bauer with factory perimeter alarm.  It is driving us crazy.  It automatically arms itself after about 1 minute.  If you are sitting in the car and bump something it sets it off.  If you are working under the hood and  bump something it sets it off.  If you look at it wrong it sets it off.

I cant find any way in the Ford manual to disable it.  I am pretty sure it is factory alarm/siren.  When you open a door it chirps about 4 times and alarms if you do not hit the unlock button or enter code into keypad or hit unlock on the fob.

Please help!

Thanks in advance

Going deaf, need more SPL...

are the buttons on the remote square? if so put the key in the ignition and turn it forward and press lock on the transmitter. get out and shut the door see if it arms itself. if it does then disarm it and get in turn the key to the on position again and press unlock and test it again... that is how the ford authorized alarms are put into valet. you can also pm me or email me with 12volt.com as the subject and i will give you my number and iwill try and help you
