I want to install a HFI1000 car kit in my 04 chevrolet tahoe. It has Onstar, but no XM. I havr read some posts about this and it seems a problem to allow Onstar to work and the phone unless you use a relay.

I did not want to purchase the GMCSS-2 harness. I see the 2 wire for the onstar phone coming into the radio are ORN/BLK  for audio low and PNK/BLK for audio HI. But I do not see the wire that mutes the radio. Any help would be appreciated.

Purchase the harness. Trust me. You will not have any problems.
