I have a 2002 gmc zr2 pick-up. The battery went dead and now the remote for the starter doesn't work, only the lights blink. It's an ultra remote. Could it need programming and if anyone knows how  help. I don't know the ultra model # as it came with the truck.

It probably does need to be re-programmed. Try this Cycle the ignition 3 times to run only, leave it on the 3rd time. There should be a button on the antenna (windshield) push and hold the button until the parking lights flash 3 times. Now turn the key off, then turn the key forward your parking lights should turn on, now start the car and the led lights on the antenna will turn on leave the truck run until the leds go out. The other thing to check is if the leds are on solid when then the car is off this means it is in valet mode, just turn the ignition on and and hold button on the antenna for 5to6 seconds this will turn the leds off. and it should work. The programming sequence is for tach learning, if the installer hooked up the tach?

hey dadz, you hit it right on the head. It was in valet mode and got it going in a couple seconds. You are the man, thanks
