There is a WHITE second ignition wire that requires connection. Also, you have Passlock I in this vehicle that you have to bypass.

The Passlock is not on theshaft of the key rather embedded into the head of the key. The information that I have says that it has the Passlock I system, but you never know. From what you re saying about the start problem, it sounds like a Passlock problem.

Make sure that the 2nd ignition wire on the RS unit is a full 12 volt output with no limiting amperage feed. Some systems have a 2nd ignition wire with a 6 amp limit to their output while others have a full 2nd ignition output without a limit of amps. If the wire is only a (-) trigger for a relay then you will need to install a relay.

Use the 5 pin relay but make sure that it has 30, 86, 85, 87 & 87a on the posts. This is a SPDT relay rated at 30/40 amp.

Wire up the relay like this for any extra IGN wires or ACC wires:

  • 86 & 87 : 12 volts fused constant
  • 85: GROUND OUT WHEN RUNNING
  • 30: Output to 2nd or 3rd ignition
  • 87a: NOT USED

remote starter doesnt work.......car starts then two seconds after cranking the motor shuts down .......hooked up as follows....

Crimestopper alarm/ remote starter

2 constant 12v ---   Battery

Ignition   ----         Pink wire -----ign.switch

IGN.2-----               White wire ----- Ign. switch

Ign.3 ------              not used no Ign. 3 on my R/S

ACC-----                   ORange ----     Ign. Switch

Tach-----                  WHite wire on Ign. module (2.4 engine)

Brake Switch ------      Blue

Starter  -----------             Yellow ---- Ign. switch

Used a passlock 1 Bypass module .......designtech model......Used (-) output on R/S to controll module.....(says in the Book to the starter to use that wire, Kind of like another Ign. Output)

Car runs fine w/ the key starting it.

I have three Ign. wires .......is it possible to use my (-) feed to ground one then use the same one to ground out a relay......or should i use my Ign. 2 which is 12+ to trip two relays to switch Ing. 2 and Ing.3 .......could that be why the car is stalling out........anything would help .......the wiring diagrams say there are 3 ign. wires at the switch  but my R/S only has wires for Ign. and Ign.2......

What kind of passlock bypass module did you use? Make sure to hook up the bulb check wire coming out the power harness... and your only gonna use the yellow and black wire from the key cylinder
My Personal Installer Note: Connectors are easy, neat, and professional. But do you know how to crimp properly?
