I have installed a Avistart3300 in a 01 Dakota. I am satisfied and alarm and RS are working. The dash is put back together. Whew!. There is four things I am trying to figure out:

1. My dome light used to come on with the factory keyless entry when the doors were unlocked. Now it doesn't when the disarm button is pressed.

2. Installed the extra relay for the door locks with the resistors. The doors lock and unlock fine. How can I get the progressive door unlock function to work? Single wire is hooked to the WHITE/ green driver door lock switch.

3. The blower fan will come on with the RS but not the A/C compressor. These are two separate wires I guess.

4. I have a delayed dome light when exiting the vehicle. This causes a zone three fault on the led when I disarm. I understand the system will rearm the door trigger when the light goes out but still reports the fault.

Does anyone have any incite to one or more of my questions. I have access to all wiring diagrams for this vehicle.

Thanks to all who answered my initial install questions.

1. Did you attach the dome light wire to the Avistart3300 ? This is an add on option that needs to use a relay in order for this to happen.

2. Negative Trigger Priority Unlock  This should also work with a single wire system. You will still need to add the resistor inline of the other relay for UNLOCK

3. The HVAC is all tied into the same circuit.. Did you power up all 4 ignition/acc. wires?

|         IGNITION|blue                |+  |ignition harness

|  SECOND IGNITION|GREEN/ red    (18 ga)|+  |ignition harness
|        ACCESSORY|BLACK/ orange        |+  |ignition harness
| SECOND ACCESSORY|green               |+  |ignition harness

4. The driver door trigger is tan in connector 2, pin 15. The passenger door trigger (and rears on the 4dr) is tan/red in connector 2, pin 13. Use both and diode isolate each to bypass the false trigger points.

1 No I didn't install a supervision relay. Might try it out though.

2. Thanks for the diagram. Not sure how to make it work with single wire, will study it.

3. All on the "Heavy Gauge Relay Satellite Key Swith Interface"  on the Avistart 3300

I will have to check, but I hooked my accessory wire (Orange) to the ignition harness Dark Green. This wire only feeds the blower motor. I only have one accessory wire on the alarm system. What do I connect the BLACK/ Orange feeding RUN A22 circuit wire to on the alarm? Can I jumper the BLACK/ Orange and Dark green wires? Don't think so?

4. Outstanding. I found the two wires you referred to. I had used the green wire hooked to the yellow dome light as the trigger as instructed to do in the manual. I like your idea much better. Two diodes opposite each other. one between the tan and green alarm trigger and one between the tan/red and green alarm trigger.

Thanks I will have to move a couple of wires but it will be done.

For the second ACC and IGN wires use this relay configuration to power up the second wires:

  • 85 : Ground out when Running wire
  • 86 & 87 : Fused ( 30 amp ) constant power
  • 30 : To 2 nd ACC or IGN wire.
  • 87a : NOT USED

Do not jumper the wires together, you have to isolate these connections from each other or you may get a CHECK ENGINE light error on the dash.
