Forum Idea's

On this Nissan forum I am on alot they have a great function where when you look at a thread it remembers it so when next time you refresh the page it shows how many new posts have been made in that thread since you last looked in the thread, it would be great if this site employed that. On top of that when you click on a thread that you have already visited it scrolls you down to the last post you read on the thread so you can start reading at the point you left off.  Heres a link to the nissan site I am referring too.  http://www.4x4parts.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php

Agreed, those are nice features and they can easily be added, but we're limited on server resources and there are only so many things you can do before you begin having undesired issues. To properly implement them, we would have to make changes to the way we store user data, but this would put a huge work load on the server and further inhibit performance. If at some time in the future we start generating enough income to exceed our existing operating costs, we would love to upgrade our hardware and have a dedicated server just for this forum as well as make quite a few changes to this forum and site.
