Here is a link to the wiring size guide.
A ho alt. definitely wouldn't be a bad idea.
You should get the SVC 4ohm and wire them for a 2 ohm load since your subs will be 400 rms each, and that amp puts out 800 rms at 2 ohms, that'll be a perfect match.
Vented box is a must. They do make those subs in an MTX Sledgehammer enclosure if you want to pay a lot more money. So I would suggest building your own if you have the skills and equipment or having your local shop build one for you.
Most people around here (many shop owners) will tell you to go check out your local shop to buy all your gear since they offer you a full warranty, and will sometimes even match the price if you find your stuff cheaper at a reputable online vendor. However, if you buy your stuff on eBay, you will get it cheaper, but that also means no warranty, and you run the risk of getting ripped off.

Depending on how far your amp is away from your battery you can use a 2 gauge or 0 gauge wire, but the 4 gauge is too small especially if your going to be running another amp for the speakers. If you purchase the single 4 ohm subs you can wire it in a 2 ohm load for SPL :

Alpine System? - Page 2 -- posted image.

This will be the best configuration for SPL opposed to running the dual 4 ohms subs in a 4 ohm load. The single 4 ohm will make use of most of the power from the 7801 which is 2 ohm stable. Also take into account that MTX amplifiers are rated at least 25 % less than when they come to you. The rated specs say 800 watts but your amp will have at least 1000 when tested at the factory.

If you go with a ported box ( all Sledgehammer enclosures are ported ) it will give you an additional 3 db of SPL. Here's the spec of the Sledgehammer enclosures:

ModelSLH-T7512X2-D
Driver Type Thunder7500
DescriptionDual 12", T7500 SledgeHammer 2 Ł
RMS800W
Freq Resp (±3dB)38.06-150
Enclosure Height14.250"
Enclosure Width34.250"
Enclosure Depth18.000"
Weight104.5 lb
Recommended Amp Power400-800 Wrms

Here's a thread about buying online in comparison to an authorized dealer for equipment.... it's a good read. Should only take 5 minutes but well worth the time. Lots of good information from various member's of the forum and just good to know when you decide where to buy.

That's a very reasonable price for the equipment. A HO alternator you can try a search through Google or on this site.
