Hello,
I just bought a new Audiobahn DVD player that comes with a regular remote and a steering wheel-mounted remote...
Anyways, I'd like to hardwire the remote to the steering wheel and I was wondering how I should properly do it.
well, the part I'm a wondering about is what proper voltage to put into it... It came with a 3V battery so how should I properly step down the 12V to 3V?
Thanks,
-Jason

Hello,
I am wanting to hard-wire a remote for my CD player and the battery that was in the remote was rated at 3V so I need to drop the input voltage from the truck, which is 12V, to 3V...
I bought a Adjustable Voltage Regulator (LM317T-Positive) from Radio shack and I was wondering if anyone knows how to configure this so it's output is 3V from a 12V input.
Thanks,
-Jason

Vout = Vref (1+(R2/R1))+Iadj R2

So, R1 between Vout and adjust pins = 240 ohms and R2, adjust to ground = 336 ohms.
