I'm in the process of hooking up the 5 wire relay system. I have got everything wired right, then I try to hookup the 12v+ and I keep getting sparks and if I try the door locks manualy I blow the fuse? What am I doing wrong.
Thank You!

Are you sure that you are using a spdt relay.  One that has a 87 pin and a 87a pin?  Brian

I wasnt trying to dought your inteligence, just narrowing it down.  Look and make sure that your fused 12 volt wire isnt going to ground somewhere. Also look at where you tapped the factory wires and make sure that they are insulated good.  Other than that it should work fine.  Brian

Thanks Brian, trust me I have no  inteligence with this dodge,it's driving me nuts. I installed two of these in two grand prix,I think it's the + door lock system that's confusing me. I wired everything like the diagram on this site and it keeps blowing fuses , even under the hood! I cut the wires in the kick panel and connected the wires from the relay. I did attach the 12 volt to the same wire that the starter is, would that make a difference?Maybe if I drive it off a bridge it would help!
Thank You!

Do you mean that you connected the 12 volt wire to the ignition wire?  Brian

No, I connected it to the red 12 volt wire that i connected to the remote starters 12 volt wire to. I didn't know if that would make a difference because the remote starter is grounded? Should I find a fresh new wire? This is all new to me, I know it's got to be easy but I must be missing something .
Thank You!
