I'm trying to install a tailgate lock, and the only notes for the 2003 model state "Find blue and white 18 gauge wires under dash at keyless entry module". (rkem)

The wires coming from the driver's door to the fuse panel contain 12 wires on the connector. One is blue, two are gray. As far as I can tell, none of these are the above mentioned wires. At the base of the kick panel area (which has been removed) are several plugs. One has a light blue wire, a different one has a white wire. Again, these don't seem to be the wires noted in the instructions. Looking up into the back of the dash area on the driver's side, I can't locate anything that has a blue and a white wire coming from it. I also don't see anything I can identify as the "rkem".  Any help identifying the correct wires, or locating the rkem, is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Technical info: 2003 Chevy Silverado LS 3500 (dually) 8.1 gas engine w/ Allison, keyless entry

As far as I am aware the keyless entry is built into the bcm (  especially assuming since the alarm settings are done through the radio now).  Also why does a tail gate lock need to be connected to a keyless entry system?  What wires are you trying to find?

Easiest solution I see is catching the motor wires in a door and using them to energize relays to lock and unlock your "thing-a-mig". Simple reverse polarity setup should get you going right quick.
Someone pass me that bottle.

The tailgate lock is electric, so the tailgage will get locked/unlocked with the doors. I found that two wires pulse when the door lock is activated, and connected to those wires. Unfortunately the amount of voltage on those wires is not enough to activate the tailgate lock solenoid (which I connected to a battery that read 10.1 volts, and it properly activated the new lock, so it definately does work). Therefore I was back to looking for the correct wires referenced in the directions--the blue and white wires from the rkem, which I can't locate.

If its like the trailblazer module, its pretty small, 4" x 3.5 " x 1" black box

So like I said catch the accuator wires in a door to feed relay and voltage wont be a prob.
