i got into my truck yesterday, (93 ford ranger 4.0 v6), and i noticed that that battery voltage gauge in dash was up at the high end of the meter, so i looked back at my amp (Alpine MRD-1005) to check the voltage, and it was at 14.4 for some reason. I have never ever seen my truck running that high, it usually only runs normal around 12 volts, and i have no idea why it would be up around 14 now.  and for about the half an hour i was driving, it stuck around 13.5, The day before it was normal inbetween 11 and 12 and now its 14.4, im stumped. just wondering if anyone knows why? thanks alot.

and im not complaining haha, cause ill make 1000 watts rms at 14.4 volts. hit 14.4 volts and no idea why -- posted image.

Most cars will show higher voltage with the alternator spinning. 13.5 to 14.4 volts is not uncommon. My guess is that the day before your engine was off or you had run your system hard for a long period of time.
There is no such thing as free installation!

ya i knew it was a good thing, i was just wondering why it really hasnt ever done that before, but that would explain it, i was cranking it for like 2 or 3 hours hard a couple days before. but the truck was on the whole time.  im gonna go check it right now.
