I want to buy one, either that or a Pioneer DEH-P860MP, but im leaning toward the eclipse because i have never had one and hear only good things about them, is the CD8445 a good one as thats the one im looking at??? Does anybody have one to give me some feedback on it?

That's like asking if the sun is a big hot ball of gas in the center of our solar system... Yeah, it's a good deck.
I would never personally have anything but an Eclipse deck... Some of the best output sections in the industry. Certainly some of the finest sound quality going. You could pay more, but it won't get you significantly better SQ, untill you spend thousands of dollars on a HU. And while the Pioneer is a decent piece, the Eclipse will have better sound quality. I've heard them both.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

"hell no we won't go"..."hell no we won't go"...
Alpine is the best !
...that is a very biased opinion though, lower your pistols gentlemen, I just happen to favor Alpine.
I would still buy or accept an Eclipse though, budget is a little low for that this month.
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

actually it is their second best deck from 2005. the 8455 is the top model from that year. I talked to my local eclipse rep the other day and he gave me a lil insight that said that i should have waited to get my eclipse deck until the next decks come out. Eclipse learned that the EI-serve online was a really bad idea. They are going away from that and keeping everything on the deck where it belongs. Dont gget me wrong, I have the 8445 and love it but there were certain features of my 8443 that i wish were on the 8445 (3-way adjustable crossover).
