Hey forbidden, to all that have responded, and to all others that have read over this thread.

I had the AVX5000 installed this morning,,, All I can say at this point is WOW,,, spend the $$$$'s you will not be disapointed. The DCU should show up today sometime but even without this addition there is an entire world of differance in the system. The 450/4 is still in the box, the 10W7's are still in the box as is the 1000/1,, but,,, going to be a busy weekend around here.   WOOOO HOOOOO !!!!!!!

Thank you for the rec on the 5000.

Hi all,

Been awhile, got stuck offshore,,, but lol am back at it again. I just installed the DCU105 that goes with the AVX5000. I picked it up from ebay for 154 bucks. I had to rip the car to shreds, dash was out, seats and carpet, (wife's expression of sheer terror was priceless) to get it installed where the original OEM amp was once mounted in the trunk deck but man it looks like it grew there. Totally out of sight.

If anyone goes out and buys one, check under the hood. I thought for awhile it was dead and that I had got burt for the first time on line but it turned out to be a ribbon cable was not fully set. Having the car torn down was the op I was needing to re-route the cables the local yahoos ran. I am going no where other than MY shop to have stuff installed now.

Thought seriously about a pair of the JL 10w7s for the sub department but had a dealer tell me the 10w6V2 DVC's are a better match for the JL 1000/1 so I think I need to hold off a bit yet, of course if I got two 1000/1's,,, (wife's head would spin around and I would get hit with green stuff) lol

now here is the really cool part.

I went in to the brick and mortor shop to have the guy tweek and check over the system today (O-scoped) and was shown a picture of the Clarion SRK5 center speaker ,, lol SOLD !!! really cool looking lil unit I was just going to blow off the center speaker but this lil thing is going to fit right under the AVX it's a 1/2 DIN with 7 speakersSound Advise - Page 2 -- posted image.. I am going to give it a thumb rating when I hear it and will pass it on.

and the answer to the question,, work hard, use your brain, oil bussiness. I am a consultant for underwater (diving and ROV's) projects
