2006 Accord Remote Start w/ Trunk Release

Hi,

Any possability of using a DEI 561T (and 556U, immbobilizer bypass) and tapping into the trunk release signal for remote start? This would retain the factory keyfob. A switch would be needed inside the car to switch between trunk release and remote start.

Is the trunk release located by drivers door mechanical or electronic? If electronic, would there be any way to open the trunk while its in remote start mode (as opposed to trunk open mode)? There is no keyhole on the trunk.

You should get a unit with keyless entry.  The honda's keyfob's don't work after the car is remote started. There is no way around that on that honda.  You don't want to have to use the key to get into your car after you remote start it do you??  I know I wouldn't want that.  The car is fairly easy, the only thing that takes a little time is running the arm/disarm wires into the drivers door.  read the sticky  "How to wire through a molex"  Here is the wiring:

Well that blows. Oh well. I thought it was a good idea. Good thing that I posted before I started hacking up my new car. :) I didn't want to give up my nice Honda keyfob.

I guess that would be worse if I had it all wired up and didn't work. I wouldn't want to unlock the car before remote starting it.

I need to get me a copy of the Helm service manual for my car and see if there isn't anything that can be done to bypass that running signal. I would suspect that the run signal is on the CAN network and I wouldn't be able to isolate it.

I'll have to see if the panic button works while running--probably not. Even if it does, I might not be able to isolate that signal either.
